Recipe of the Month: Strawberry Lemonade Sangria

Strawberry Lemonade Sangria

        I know it doesn't feel like it now, but before we know it the hot Spring/Summer weather will be upon us! What better way to cool down that to enjoy a refreshing specialty cocktail. Our Strawberry Lemonade Sangria is to die for and we are sharing the recipe with you exclusively. 

1 bottle of white wine – moscato or sauvignon blanc

1 cup strawberry vodka

½ triple sec

4-5 cups sprite or 7 up

1 lemon juiced

Simple syrup to stast

1 pint fresh strawberries hulled and sliced

Mix all ingredients.

Add slice of lemon and berry as garnish

This is not one you are going to want to share. Make sure you are batching this delicious drink so the rest of your guests can experience its deliciousness!

3 recipes = 2 gallons

3 bottles white wine

24 ounces strawberry vodka

12 ounces triple sec

3 liters of sprite

3 lemons juiced

Sip, SAVOR, & Style: Winter 2018

      If you follow us closely, you've already seen all of the style behind our Sip, Savor & Style event done at Legacy Farms on their blog but come on, we KNOW we just teased you with all of that and you are ready to hear all about the DELICIOUS food!

Soup and Sandwhich

       What better way to keep your guests cozy at an event than to have a soup and sand which bar! Our creamy tomato basil soup was the perfect compliment to our delicious choices of grilled sand whiches. The choices included our pork and pepper jack w/ sweet and sour slaw, turkey and avocado Swiss with a sprig of arugula, & my personal favorite: the beef and cheddar with caramelized onion. How cute is our soup being dispersed through a copper urn?! This station was one we saw folks stopping by over and over again.

Because we love stations so much.....we added in a few more. Stations are a fun way to give your guests delicious options and it was the perfect way to prepare a live tasting for our clients. Our chicken and beef satay station had it's choice of three delicious sauces available for choosing. The sweet chili sauce complimented our chicken in the most delicious way, our Thai peanut sauce is paired perfectly with either meat, and the one that still makes my mouth water is the tangy and spicy teriyaki sauce!  

We cannot forget about the sides y'all! They just don't get enough attention and ours are to DIE FOR! Bacon Wrapped Brussel Sprouts, Roasted Corn and Grilled Squash Succotash, and Garlic Parmesan Smashed Potatoes are perfect little pairings to add to your buffet for a little WOW factor. 

Alright, I'm trying to move along to the next section but the Succotash has my heart eyes popping, it is just too pretty!

    Our whiskey barrel buffet was loaded with SO MANY GOODIES. From our Deviled Egg Station to the delicious meat carving station....our guests could not get enough! We did grits three ways: We had a Braised Beef over Pear Butter inside a classy martini glass, an adorable Parmesan Polenta Bite topped with a mushroom, and of course our popular French Quarter Shrimp & Grits Bite. YUM!

LAST but certainly not LEAST.......Ladies and Gentlemen: the mack daddy of all dessert stations:

Macaroons, S'more's Brownie Bites, Pie Pops, Mini Cinnamon Apple Hand Pies, White Chocolate Mousse w/ Raspberry Puree, and Chocolate Dipped Key Lime....OH MY!! You can already see why this station was so popular but these are just a few of the desserts our executive chef can offer. The central focus of our dessert station was the STUNNING cake from our new friendor Baked in Nashville

Recipe of the Month: Zucchini Bread

          Ya'll, just hear us out. THESE ARE GOOD! I mean, the type of good you cannot stop eating. We love to make our Zucchini Bread into bite size muffins as a nice addition to the sides in a buffet line. We also like to secretly eat these when no one is looking. 

Zucchini Bread


3c AP Flour

2c Sugar

¼t Salt

1t Baking Soda

3t Cinnamon

3 Eggs, beaten

1 small 10 oz can crushed pineapple

3t Vanilla Extract

1c Oil

2c Zucchini, grated

Sesame Seeds for topping

~Whisk all dry ingredients together

~Blend all wet ingredients together and fold into the dry mixture.

~Blend just to moisten.

~Spoon into prepared tins and bake 350 15-20 minutes or until tops are golden brown.

And.....try not to eat them all. I dare you!

'Tis the Summer to Prepare: Holiday Parties

       It's Christmas in July and do we have a treat for you. We are preparing our holiday menus and getting plenty of Yuletide Cheer added to our calendars for the upcoming holiday season. There are exactly 156 days left until Christmas day my friends and plenty of other reasons to celebrate in between. Holy Reindeer! In preparation for a busy season to come, we've put together our must have list to throw the perfect Holiday Party!

*Make your "Spirits" Bright*

     Is there any better way to get a party started than with a cup of something cheery?! We love the idea of turning holiday favorites into the perfect cocktail for your event. Try spiking your favorite hot chocolate recipe OR better yet, make it a frozen chocolaty treat complete with several different topping options and an adorable display that will make Santa want to come to town! A traditional glass of champagne doesn't have to be boring, dress it up with a glistening gold sprinkled rim for toasting. Dress up your menu with signature items with holiday twists to give your guests and perhaps Santa's reindeer plenty of options to choose from.

       You cannot have a holiday party without themed decor. If you really want to show off your tinsel talents, wow your guests with a beautiful display that screams it's the most wonderful time of year! We love this holiday "living room scene" displayed at one of Legacy Farm's December weddings. It was cozy and functional and perfect for this Christmas themed day.

      Interesting menu items are a must have for any party. For a Holiday themed event we love to take classics and turn them into fine gourmet cuisines. Dinner has begun and your guests would thoroughly enjoy a spin on the traditional Christmas ham and have a slice of Spanish ham or a Genoa Salami instead. You have to add in something sweet with your savory with options of adorable a tasty brie tart-lets or perhaps an eggnog profiteroles.

Easy BBQ Sliders: The Perfect Party Passer!

Tennessee barbecues are in full swing and its time for us to share one of our favorite appetizer and cocktail hour recipes. These sliders are adorable, bite sized, and delicious. It is easy to customize and prepare and it is just darn right good my friends!

BBQ Biscuit


1 lb. of your favorite BBQ lightly sauced {Pork, Chicken, or Beef)

24 Biscuits {You can use your favorite homemade biscuit recipe or store bought! Make sure you mix in some shredded cheddar cheese and fresh copped herbs for extra deliciousness. Spray some water on top with your favorite herb blend...we love Mrs. Dash!}

Prepare Biscuits and slice horizontally Fill biscuits with BBQ, top with additional sauce and pickled onions.

Pickled Topping

*Pickled Onions*

2 large red onions – thinly sliced

      1/2 cups apple cider vinegar

   1 tablespoon sugar

   1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt


Whisk first 3 ingredients and 1 cup water in a small bowl until sugar and salt dissolve. Place onion in a jar; pour vinegar mixture over. Let sit at room temperature for 1 hour. DO AHEAD: Can be made 2 weeks ahead. Cover and chill. Drain onions before using.

Whether you are having a party at home celebrating summer fun or need a universally delicious cocktail hour passer, these are to die for. BONUS TIP: Because we are all about the extras today, add some adorable food signage to really show off you hosting skills!

Savoring the Event: Sip, Savor & Style Recap

      If you happened to catch Legacy Farm's recap of their Spring edition of Sip, Savor & Style you already know the food was beautiful and the displays were lovely. We are here to make your mouths continue to water by letting you in on the secrets of all we had to "Savor" at this event! 


       Let's start with an appetizer shall we? Our appetizer station was a scrumptious success! Our BBQ & Biscuit bites were put together on a sweet potato biscuit round topped with pulled pork, sweet & sour slaw, and drizzled with delicious BBQ sauce.

The Pimento Cheese & Bacon Crustini was rich in flavor with our house made pimento cheese and crunchy bacon.

The Chicken & Waffle Bites are a famous dish turned into bite size and delicious pieces perfect for nibbling and mingling!

Steak Romany w/ Roasted Veggies

       The intensity of  Eastern European flavors is the accent behind this dramatic dish. The steak is liberally coated in our own paste of hand-ground paprikas and pimentos, sauteed and topped with a ruby confit of red onion. You can't go wrong pairing this dish with a side of squash, zuccini, red pepper, and onion tossed in olive oil and roasted to a rich color and aroma. 

Herb Crusted Chicken

         This delicious chicken breast was coated with a blend of parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme and sauteed until golden. Topping it with a herb chicken veloute and a sprig of rosemary and you have yourselves a hit my friends!

Brisket Pot Roast

       If you crave a slow cooked meal that tastes like home you will be obsessed with this dish! This beef brisket is seasoned, seared and then simmered in a rich au jus sauce until it is fork tender. Sliced and garnished with roasted celery, carrots and onions makes it the perfect home cooked meal. 

Smoked Pork Loin

This fresh pork is brined for 36 hours with juniper and bay leaf before it is smoked. We topped this entree with a fresh Georgia peach preserve.

Sides: So delicious we can't leave them out!

     So often, the side dishes get missed in the hustle and bustle of an event but not these guys! Fresh shallots are sauteed in butter until gently browned then tossed with crisp tender green beans. Our Garlic Parmesan Smashed Potatoes are simply cooked until tender and then smashed flat. They are topped with garlic butter and parmesan cheese and toasted until golden brown.
